| TypeWell Basic Skills Course - Training Package The initial course teaches the basic skills necessary to provide TypeWell meaning-for-meaning communication access. This distance learning course combines interactive training software (included in course fee) with individualized feedback from a team of experienced teachers. To qualify for the TypeWell Basic Skills Course, a candidate must meet certain minimum requirements; screening tests are included in the free online application.As of September 1, 2019, the Basic Skills Course fee also includes two (2) mandatory, first-semester Skill Consultations conducted by a TypeWell teacher. This updated training model will ensure that first-semester transcribers receive a minimum level of mentoring and have an opportunity to receive feedback once they're providing real-time services. |

To expedite enrollment, please pay by credit card if possible. Payment instructions will be automatically emailed directly to the candidate or the candidate's sponsor during the registration process.
Developing a budget?
The TypeWell transcribing software is licensed separately by the month or year, and can only be activated once the candidate has successfully completed the Basic Skills Course or Refresher Course.
Equipment Needed
The Basic Skills Course must be done on a laptop computer running Windows. The Refresher Course and Turbo Courselet software can be installed on a laptop or desktop. Learn more about course equipment requirements.
