What is a TypeWell account?

TypeWell uses two separate account systems:

  • A TypeWell account provides access to TypeWell training records, software licenses, account management, technical support, and other services.
  • A LEO account provides access to online courses and workshops through TypeWell’s Learning & Enrichment Online website.

The two accounts serve different purposes and have separate sign-in credentials.

Your TypeWell account

A TypeWell account identifies an individual, organization, company, or institution that is eligible to access TypeWell services. Depending on the type of account, these services may include training, software licenses, technical support, and other resources.

Sign in to your TypeWell account to access the services and information associated with it.

TypeWell account security

TypeWell accounts use a legacy account system in which passwords and password reminders are sent to the email address associated with the account. Please treat these emails as sensitive and store the password securely.

An organization account may be managed by more than one authorized staff member. The account manager may share the login credentials with another person who has been authorized to manage the organization’s licenses or account information. Organizations should change the password when an authorized user no longer needs access.

Payment card information is not stored in the TypeWell account. Online payments are processed separately through our payment provider.

If the account manager or official account email address changes, please contact us so we can update the account.

Accessing your TypeWell account

If you forget your account password, click Forgot password? on the TypeWell sign-in page. Your account access information will be sent to the email address associated with the account.

If you no longer have access to that email address, please contact us so we can verify your information and update the account.

TypeWell account types

Training account

When someone applies for the TypeWell Basic Skills Course, they create a free training account. This account tracks their progress through the application process.

If the applicant is accepted into the course, the account is also used to access the training software and maintain information related to their training progress.

Transcriber account

After a transcriber completes the Basic Skills Course, their TypeWell account maintains a record of their TypeWell training history.

Qualified transcribers may also use their account to purchase and manage personal software licenses.

Continuing education courses and workshops are generally accessed through a separate LEO account, as explained below.

License or organization account

Some TypeWell accounts are created primarily to manage software licenses owned by a school, agency, company, or other organization. The account lists the licenses the organization has purchased and the status of each license.

For example, a school may purchase software licenses that are installed on school-owned computers and used by qualified TypeWell transcribers. The school selects an account manager to manage those licenses.

The organization’s account is separate from each transcriber’s individual account, even when the transcribers use organization-owned software to provide services.

LEO accounts

Learning & Enrichment Online, or LEO, is TypeWell’s online learning website for continuing education courses, workshops, and other educational resources. LEO is hosted separately through TalentLMS.

To use LEO, visit learn.typewell.com and create or sign in to your LEO account. You will create a username and password specifically for LEO.

Your LEO account tracks your course enrollment and progress within the LEO website. It does not contain your TypeWell software licenses or replace your TypeWell account.

Having a TypeWell account does not automatically create a LEO account, and your TypeWell account password may not be the same as your LEO password. Access to certain LEO courses may require TypeWell to confirm that you meet the course’s eligibility requirements.

Please contact us with any questions about your TypeWell or LEO account.
