Symptom: Lag between keyboard and screen/monitor

Symptom: Transcriber experiences a lag between when they type on the keyboard and when the words appear on their screen

Solution: Provided by a community college —

We’re using a software, DefendPoint, by Avecto to elevate the rights that certain software may need when running under a non-admin user login. This lets our non-local admin users run software that needs admin right to run. Avecto DefendPoint runs as a service in Windows and monitors all the processes that are running. Somehow it conflicted with Typewell Transcriber and caused the delay between typing and seeing the words on the screen. We added the TWTranscriber.exe program to the Hook Exclusion list in DefendPoint and TW works again. We did not contact Avecto’s support for this issue.
