C-Print users can use C-Print® Anyware alongside TypeWell Connect to stream real-time text to a web browser (via caption-viewer.com) or to third-party caption delivery platforms such as StreamText.
This article reflects our best current understanding, based on support requests from C-Print® users who have successfully used TypeWell Connect in this way. TypeWell does not develop, document, or receive technical specifications for C-Print® Anyware, so details below are based on observed behavior rather than official C-Print® documentation.
How the setup works (high level)
Text is directed into the TypeWell Connect window, and TypeWell Connect then streams whatever text appears there to viewers or external services.
TypeWell Connect does not integrate directly with C-Print® software or dictionaries. Any abbreviation expansion occurs within C-Print® Anyware.
Supported workflows
1. Streaming text to a browser (caption-viewer.com)
This is the most common setup.
How it works:
- TypeWell Connect runs locally on your Windows computer.
- You place your cursor in the TypeWell Connect typing pane.
- C-Print® Anyware expands your abbreviations as you write.
- TypeWell Connect streams whatever text appears in its window to a unique caption-viewer.com link.
What to check:
- C-Print® Anyware must be active for the TypeWell Connect window.
- If expansions work in other programs but not in TypeWell Connect, trying starting TypeWell first, before launching Anyware.
- Confirm that Anyware is not restricted to specific applications.
2. Streaming text to third-party platforms (for example, StreamText)
TypeWell Connect can also act as a bridge between your writing workflow and external caption delivery platforms.
Typical flow:
- You write using C-Print® Anyware with your cursor in the TypeWell Connect window.
- TypeWell Connect receives the resulting text as standard input.
- TypeWell Connect streams the text onward to the configured third-party service (such as StreamText).
This allows C-Print® users to continue using familiar abbreviation workflows while meeting platform or client requirements that specify a particular caption delivery service.
Note: Configuration steps for third-party platforms vary by provider. Always follow the platform’s own setup instructions when linking it with TypeWell Connect.
Important notes for C-Print® users
- TypeWell Connect does not integrate directly with C-Print® software or dictionaries.
- Any abbreviation expansion happens entirely within C-Print® Anyware.
- TypeWell Connect simply streams whatever text it receives.
- If expansions work in some applications but not in TypeWell Connect, the issue is almost always related to how Anyware is enabled per application, or whether TypeWell Connect launched prior to launching Anyware.
Troubleshooting tips
- Close both programs and reopen TypeWell Connect first, then C-Print® Anyware.
- Restart your computer if either program was recently installed or updated.
- Test your full setup before a live job, especially when switching computers.
