I have TypeWell Everywhere installed on my Windows 7 computer. It will run for a while, but then it disappears. The Everywhere icon is no longer in the system tray, and when I search my computer, there's no trace of the TypeWell Everywhere program files or the application file itself (TWEverywhere.exe). Where is it going??
It sounds like your antivirus program may be quarantining TypeWell Everywhere. This is considered a “false positive” when the antivirus program mistakes an application as harmful. Which antivirus program are you running?
[user responded by email; they’re running Symantec]
Below are instructions from the Symantec help site that may work for your particular system. Always check with your specific antivirus developer’s instructions before restoring files from quarantine.
File Restoration from the SEP client GUI (SEP 11 and 12.1):
1. Open the Symantec Endpoint Protection interface.
2. From the left-hand side menu Select View quarantine
3. Highlight the item in Quarantine, and choose Restore.
4. Confirm Restore when prompted to do so ‘Are you sure you want to restore the selected files’?, choose Yes.
