I've been linking internally (and loving it!) but today when I went from one class to the next I couldn't get the iPad to stop showing the notes from the previous class. I restarted both the iPad and the transcriber computer and I even cleared the browser history on the iPad. My teammate (who wasn't in the previous class with me) tried her iPad and it was also getting my previous class' notes.
Is there something else I should be trying to stop this from happening?
When using Web Linking or Internal Linking, TypeWell intentionally saves the text in each channel so that if your connection is temporarily interrupted, the whole transcript won’t disappear on the reader’s display.
In order to “clear” that channel, the transcriber needs to click File > New.
This clears, or resets, the channel so the Internal Server (or the Web Linking server) no longer sends the prior text to any new readers.
Restarting the computer does NOT accomplish that same thing. (That’s an intentional feature, in case someone’s computer has to be rebooted but you don’t want to lose the transcript.)
If you have back-to-back classes, remember to click File > New at the start of each new class so that the reader doesn’t see the text from the previous class.
