Can I use a tablet for the reader computer? Are there any other ways besides web linking to link with a tablet?

Hi Shayla,

Yes, you can use any type of Web-enabled device as the “reader” device. Web Linking is definitely the easiest and simplest method for linking to a tablet, as long as the transcriber and reader both have reliable WiFi internet access on their respective devices. However, you can also use Internal Linking if the transcriber’s is using a laptop that came with Windows 7 or later operating systems. Read an overview of Internal Linking here, and detailed instructions here.

If your reader tablet runs the full version of Windows, you can also install the TypeWell Reader software onto the tablet (for free!) and use Peer-to-peer Linking, Local Linking, or Skype Linking.
